Stephanie and Shawn Aikenhead

Steph and Shawn are passionate about nature and the environment, and are both experienced outdoors people, listing fishing and hunting among their favorite activities. Steph also lists scuba diving among her passions.

They live amidst an abundance of attractions, natural resources, and the pristine and ever-changing beauty of the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island.

Elk Ridge Estate offers visitors elegant and luxurious accommodation. The majestic log home, designed and built by the Aikenheads, sits upon beautiful acreage in a unique and secluded location. Steph prepares custom tour packages for the guests at Elk Ridge Estate as well as guests staying at other B and B’s, and hotels or other accommodation while visiting the Cowichan Valley.

Shawn handles the fishing charters, with Steph on hand to keep the guests warm and well fed when they arrive back on shore and the Aikenheads camp at Port Renfrew, on the west coast of Vancouver Island. There the fun begins, preparing their catch of salmon and hailibut for it’s trip home, while savoring the days delicious fresh catch of crab!

Visitors can choose to make their stay at Elk Ridge Estate a bed and breakfast experience, or, as the Aikenhead’s encourage longer visits in Cowichan, they may have a floor all to themselves, complete with fireplace, library and a fully appointed kitchen!

Stephanie, being of German heritage, speaks the language well, and has associates in Germany assisting her in promoting the Cowichan Valley to the world.
